Mindfulness Book Group (Online-Zoom)
October 5 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDTFree
Mindfulness Book Group will meet virtually on the first Thursday of each month at 7pm to discuss books on the theme of mindfulness.
Topics will include:
-Awareness of emotions and thoughts
-Compassion for self and others
-Practical applications of mindfulness in daily life, relationships, and society.
Since mindfulness is a skill that is developed through regular practice, participants are strongly encouraged to have a mindfulness meditation practice. That way, discussion can be enriched by your practice – instead of just talking about concepts, which is not what mindfulness is about. Hopefully the reading selections also can be motivating for your practice! Facilitator Susan Meyer is an experienced and credentialed mindfulness meditation teacher who offers a Tuesday evening guided meditation session every week through the library.
Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link to join on the night of the book group (same link for all months).
For our October meeting, we will finish our discussion of The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer (Parts 4 and 5). The book is available in the library or download on Hoopla.
