Mindfulness Meditation Series (Online – Zoom)
June 18, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT
Free
Mindfulness meditation is a refuge that provides grounding, clarity, and calm that are so vital for navigating the challenges of being part of a world shifting into a “new normal”. This five-week series (Fridays: June 4, 11, 18, 25 & July 2) provides practical instruction and inspiration for your meditation practice, as well as connection with a supportive and welcoming community of meditators. Each session will address a different topic relevant to mindfulness meditation. You will receive support for cultivating mindfulness skills both “on and off the cushion” and applying those skills to meeting life’s challenges, to respond wisely instead of reactively. You’ll learn strategies to awaken to mindfulness and compassion when you’re in the thick of difficulty and dramatically shift the experience of your life, the people in it, and the world itself.
Each class will include a brief reflection or presentation, guided practice, and Q&A/discussion. This series is not sequential, so if you miss the first session(s), you can still participate. We realize summer schedules can be busy, so sign up, and come when you can!
You must register for this series through the library’s website. (You do not have to live in the area or have a library card to participate.) This program is offered through Zoom videoconferencing. In advance of the first session, you will receive an email containing an invitation and link to join the Zoom meeting.
