Mindfulness Meditation Series (Online – Zoom)

March 5, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST

Free

Mindfulness meditation promotes well-being from the inside-out. Research has shown that mindfulness benefits those struggling with depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, distractibility, high sensitivity, and difficult life transitions. During these uncertain times, many are turning to mindfulness practices as a refuge in the storm.

This five-week series (March 5, 12 & 19 and April 2 & 9) will provide practical guidance and inspiration for your meditation practice, as well as connection with a supportive and welcoming community of meditators. Each session will address a different topic relevant to mindfulness meditation. You will receive support for cultivating mindfulness skills both “on and off the cushion” and applying those skills to meeting life’s challenges, to respond wisely instead of reactively. Each session will include a presentation, guided practice, and Q&A/discussion, and follow-up materials.

You must register for this series through the library’s website. This program is offered through Zoom videoconferencing. In advance of the first session, you will receive an email containing an invitation and link to join the Zoom meeting.

Susan Meyer has been practicing mindfulness meditation for nearly 30 years. She completed mindfulness meditation teacher training with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield and is a teacher on the Insight Timer app.
