Mindfulness with Children (Online Series – Zoom)

This five-session class (April 10, 17, and 24 and May 1 and 8) is for parents and caregivers because the best way to teach a child to be mindful is to embody the practice yourself and to make use of teachable moments as they occur naturally throughout the day.
This class is geared toward activities that can be done with children. I will offer specific activities/meditations as well as ideas for incorporating mindfulness into daily life with children, including:
- mindful communication
- picture books/storytime
- body and sensory awareness
- relating to feelings and thoughts
- time in nature
- self-compassion (being your own best friend).
We will focus on managing stress, focusing attention, developing empathy and compassion, and savoring positive experiences. In each class, I will offer guided meditations, practices, and activities that can be done together (available online as recordings, adult and child versions).
